Risk information and where to find support

This site offers no gambling, but it covers an industry that carries real risk. Here is what that risk looks like and who can help.

The mathematics is not neutral

Commercial gambling products are designed so that, over time, they return less than they take. Individual sessions vary widely; the long-run direction does not.

No strategy, system, or pattern removes that structural advantage. Anyone promising guaranteed winnings is misleading you.

Common thinking traps

Believing an outcome is "due" after a run of losses — independent events carry no memory. Chasing losses to get back to even. Treating a near miss as progress when it is presentation, not probability.

Borrowing to play, or playing with money committed to something else, changes the nature of the risk entirely.

Signs worth taking seriously

Spending more time or money than intended, hiding activity from people close to you, gambling to escape stress or low mood, or feeling unable to stop after deciding to.

These are reasons to seek support, not reasons for embarrassment. Support is available and confidential.

Where to find help

Independent, non-commercial organisations provide free and confidential support in many countries. The links below are starting points; a local health service or GP can also refer you to support where you live.

If you are in immediate distress, contact local emergency services or a crisis line in your country.
