Methodology

How we verify information

A short, concrete description of the checking process behind every label on this site.

What each label means

Verified
Checked against a named source, on a recorded date.
Verification pending
A check is intended but has not been completed. Treat the value as unconfirmed.
Not yet verified
We could not find a supporting source. This is not a claim that the information is false.

Verification is per field, not per page

Our content model stores a verification state against individual values, not whole records. A resort page can show a verified emirate alongside a pending opening date, because those are separate claims resting on separate evidence.

What counts as a source

The party in a position to know, publishing on its own channel: a regulator for licensing, an operator for its own plans, a government authority for legal and travel requirements.

A logo, a certificate image, a directory listing, or a press summary is not a source for a licensing claim.

Licensing and operating status never merge

A licensing record does not mean a venue is open. An open venue does not by itself demonstrate a specific licence. We store these as independent fields and display them separately, everywhere.

What we record when we check

The source title, its URL, and the date of the check. That date is published as the last verified date so readers can judge how current a claim is.

Where we stop

We do not interpret regulations, state eligibility criteria, or offer legal conclusions. We point at the published material and explain how to read it.

We do not promise a review cadence we have not established. Each page's verification date is the honest signal of how fresh it is.
